The Centre of Excellence -Kerala Highway Research Institute (CoE-KHRI) under Kerala Public Works Department, located in Kariyavattom,Thiruvananthapiuram, has been a cornerstone of public infrastructure development of the state of kerala for over 53 years. This institute has concentrated its efforts on applied research, pilot projects, training, capacity building, material testing and quality improvements in construction. CoE - KHRI collaborates with leading National institutions like IITs and NITs, conduct research and pilot studies to introduce cutting-edge technology to Kerala's Public Works Department. It gathers global best practices, adapts them to local needs, and disseminates the information.

The seventh volume of the newsletter showcasing the comprehensive overview of activities of this institute from February 2024 is presented with sincere gratitude to Sri. P.A.Mohammed Riyas (Hon. Minister for Public Works & Tourism Department), Sri. Biju K, IAS(Secretary - Public Works Department), Smt. Suja Rani T.S (Chief Engineer, PWD Design) and the KHRI Team.

Enhancement in NABL accrediated test scope reflects rigorous adherence to global standards, equipment calibration, and documented procedures. Over 50 problem-solving activities directly assisting the field engineers and laboratory testing of around 10,000 samples, demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous operational improvement in the projects. 

Role played by CoE - KHRI in the conduct of the PWD Vision 2031 - CRISP KERALA Seminar is Worthy of admiration. Way forward, Team CoE KHRI is committed to reach greater heights by fostering a culture of excellence, continuous innovation and embracing challenges and opportunities for
